About
BlakSeed is an Indigenous-led angel syndicate connecting investors with a pipeline of high-growth Indigenous startups, spanning Pre-Seed to Series A. We specialise in creating culturally safe investment pathways, helping founders raise capital and scale with confidence.
Our mission is to unlock Indigenous innovation by bridging the gap between founders and investors, delivering both strong commercial returns and meaningful social impact. With more than 30,000 Indigenous-owned businesses in Australia and the sector on track to reach $21B in revenue by 2025 ($50 billion by 2030), BlakSeed offers access to an underrepresented, fast-growing market where opportunity and impact come together.
As a Supply Nation–registered business and member, we combine cultural insight with industry best practice to deliver curated deal flow, rigorous due diligence, and long-term value creation for founders and investors alike.
Team
Our syndicate is led by Alex Sanderson. Alex began his career at 15, working to diversify supply chains under the Indigenous Procurement Policy. Since then, he has built a strong track record in the Indigenous business sector, founding Australia’s first Indigenous Business Society on any university campus, partnering with multinationals to advance Indigenous strategies, and completing his MBA and now CPA.
As a Business Contributor to the Indigenous Business Review and a Business Coach to high-growth Indigenous founders, Alex is a recognised voice in Indigenous economic empowerment.
BlakSeed is the culmination of his deep passion and commitment to building a more inclusive financial system for Indigenous businesses.
